Restaurant Ops Playbook: Peer-built SOPs, Templates & Integration Tips
Operators — share your battle-tested SOPs, templates, tools, and integration hacks that materially reduced labor costs, cut food waste, and improved service consistency. Be specific so others can copy or adapt. Include:
- Venue context: FOH/BOH focus, format (QSR/full-service/catering), seats, avg. check, market size.
- Exact change you made (scheduling rule, par sheet, recipe-cost sheet, training checklist, compliance checklist, POS workflow, etc.).
- Tools & integrations used (POS name + modules, inventory system, scheduling/payroll, analytics, middleware/APIs) and how they were connected.
- Implementation notes: time to roll out, training required, biggest hurdles and how you overcame them.
- Measurable before/after metrics (e.g., % labor reduction, lbs or $ of food waste saved, service time improvements, ticket time, shrink change). Include measurement methods if possible.
- Shareables: scheduling templates, par sheets, recipe-cost worksheets, SOP PDFs, screenshots, or links (redact sensitive vendor pricing if needed).
- Vendor recommendations and why (support, ROI, ease of integration).
Please tag posts with FOH or BOH and include one-line summary of impact (e.g., “BOH — auto-replen par + daily counts = 18% food cost drop in 6 weeks”). Practical, real-world examples are most useful — show the template or metric if you can.
